A new independent dance film has arrived on Amazon and it features a dance form that is woefully underrepresented in TV and film — tap. Dance Baby Dance, directed/written/produced/starring Stephen Kogon, the movie also stars Beverley Mitchell.
Dance fans will also recognize Season 12 So You Think You Can Dance contestant Jim Nowakowski and other familiar faces like Ellen Kim, Aaron DeWayne Williams and Isaiah Lucas.
The film has a Rocky-type of theme where the main character, played by Kogon, is ready to live out his dance dreams after a number of setbacks over the years. To play Jimmy, Kogon taught himself the tap basics, thanks to online tutorials.
